PTC Decathlon
Competition 2023
Sign up for the third annual Peachtree Corners Decathlon!
72 participants will compete in 10 events at the Town Green Path to Fitness with an award ceremony to be held Monday, October 23 at the Curiosity Lab Innovation Center event space, 147 Technology Parkway. Details and signup link follow:
- Who: men and women aged 18 and older
- When: Saturday October 21, 2023
- Start Time: rolling start every 5 minutes beginning at 8 am and ending at 2 pm
- Where: Peachtree Corners Town Green (Path to Fitness), 5140 Town Center Boulevard
- Length: 50 minutes
- Registration Fee: $20, which includes Decathlon T-shirt, and food and beverages at the award ceremony
- Award Ceremony: Monday, October 23, 2023, 6:30 pm at the Curiosity Lab Innovation Center event space, 147 Technology Parkway. Food and beverages included in the registration fee
- Team Competition (new): Top 3 male and top 3 female finishes from each Gym/Box will claim the title of "Top Gym". The Winners Cup (sponsored by the City of Peachtree Corners) will have the name of the Gym engraved for the year won, and the Gym will keep the Cup for the balance of the year. More details to be provided as we get closer to race day.

There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in the following categories:
- Men 18-34
- Men 35-49
- Men 50 and over
- Women 18-34
- Women 35-49
- Women 50 and over
Events
Participants will have five minutes per station to complete each of the following exercises:
Pull yourself up and over the top of an 8 foot vertical wall using only your arms and legs.
Men: climb the obstacle 5 times.
Women: climb the obstacle 4 times.

The bender is a metal ladder inclined toward you, with the first bar located above your head. Your goal is to climb over and to the other side, without using the support structure or straps. The metal ladder is about 12 feet high.
Men: climb the obstacle 4 times.
Women: climb the obstacle 3 times.

Climb a 20 foot rope and touch the support beam at the top and then descend the rope.
Men: climb to the top (20 feet) 3 times.
Women: climb 2 times to 16 feet.

Jump onto a 30 inch platform with both feet landing on the platform at the same time. Participant must complete 50 reps.
Men: use the higher box.

Crawl along a 30 foot horizontal rope that is fixed approximately 9 feet above the ground between two wooden posts. Pull yourself along the rope, never touching the ground, until you touch the far post.
Men: must complete 3 rounds.
Women: must complete 2 rounds.

Navigate a 30 foot long obstacle using rings and bars using only your hands. At no time should your feet touch the ground. You have to stay underneath the Rig and cannot use the structures or side supports.
